Founding member & shareholder of Resolute
Mr. George Kotsalos holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and Commerce from the London School of Foreign Trade, an Associateship Diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute, and has attended a series of courses as well as training seminars on Insurance Practice in Athens and abroad (Lloyd’s, Munich Re , Swiss Re, CIGNA, et al.).
He began his professional career in 1974 as a Claims Adjuster-Estimator in Toplis & Harding company to continue to INTERTRUST / INTERAMERICAN General Insurance, in executive positions in Real Estate, Engineering, Accidents, Ships and with multinational clients, while he then served as Deputy General Manager of the company until 1984 and of ASSICURAZIONI GENERALI Greece until 1993.
Since 2009 he has served in positions of responsibility at the ACHMEA Group, a parent company of INTERAMERICAN, including the Board of Directors of EUREKO SIGORTA and the Board of Directors of the insurance company AVERO Brussels (Belgium, a subsidiary).
Mr. Kotsalos is a Founding Member and Shareholder of Resolut, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dogus Hellas SA while he has served as Managing Director at INTERAMERICAN Group, PHOENIX METROLIFE EMPORIKI, PHOENIX General Insurance, Chairman of the PHOENIX CREDIT and co-director of TRS / VIGGAS Reinsurance.
Other professional activities include the Presidency of the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies (EAEE) (three mandates), a member of the Board of Directors of the Comité Européen des Assurances (CEA), President of the Hellenic Institute of Insurance Studies (EIASS), Chairman and Member of the Hellenic Board of Directors. Dutch Trade and Industry Association (HeDA), Member of the Board of Directors of BSE, Member of the Board of Directors of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic-Chinese Finance Board, Founding Member of the Leadership Department of the Hellenic Company for Business Management (EADE), while has served on the Board of Directors of the Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce – Institute of Economic Policy and Public Governance, Member of the Hellenic Insurance Advisor Committee,Vice-President of MEDNET Greece, Chairman of the Hellenic-Turkish Insurance Cooperation Committee and Invited Member of the Board of Directors of Demir Hayat Sigorta.
In 2012 he was awarded the title “Manager of the Year 2011” by the Hellenic Business Management Company.
